Infernal Beats & Frightful Feats

A Halloween Festival of Movies, Music, Monsters and Mayhem!

A storm has unleashed an ancient force within Tallaght Library, bringing hordes of monsters, demons and zombies to life from the pages of the library’s darkest tales. Set free from the constraints of ink and paper, they’ve now entered Parthalán Place (outside the Civic Theatre), and we need your help in this battle to protect your community.

Presented by SDCC, and with a story that’s grounded in Tallaght’s origins as an ancient burial ground, Tallaween is an exciting new Festival, featuring an Augmented Reality, First-Person Shooter mobile game, which turns Parthalán Place into a Virtual Theme Park, as well as a specially commissioned short film, created using ‘Text to Video’ AI and presented with companion laser show on the rear wall of Rua Red.

So between the 19th and 31st of October, grab your wand (mobile) and enter the Halloween spirit with this exciting next experience on Parthalán Place (outside The Civic Theatre)… Happy Tallaween!

An AI-Fuelled Journey into the Heart of Darkness

Tallaween features a new AI-Generated (‘Text to Video’) Short Film that will be projected onto the wall at the rear of Rua Red Arts Centre during the Festival.

Based on Dante’s Inferno from 1309, considered by many to be the first ever ‘spooky’ story, this film reimagines Dante’s journey through the 21st century ‘hell’ of the Digital Age, as he searches for authenticity and redemption.

The visuals are accompanied by an original soundtrack performed by acclaimed singer Saibhin, emerging hip-hop star, Fortune, and opera sensation, Claudia Boyle.

Created by Niall Austin, and with visuals by JAB, this film will be shown nightly between 5pm and 9pm until the 31st of October.

Soundtrack from the Shadows – Live!

On the opening night of Tallaween, witness a fusion of technology, art and music that redefines the boundaries of horror and pushes the limits of storytelling.

Join acclaimed singer Saibhin, rising hip-hop sensation Fortune, and opera powerhouse Join the band ‘Sinners for an unforgettable evening where music and storytelling converge. This exclusive live performance will take place at 5.30 pm on October 19th at the Rua Red Arts Centre, setting the tone for the festival’s eerie explorations.

The soundtrack, which blends ethereal vocals, evocative beats, and chilling operatic elements, was created by Niall Austin to reimagine Dante’s descent into hell. Each note is crafted to mirror the film’s surreal visuals, guiding the audience through a soundscape of anguish, temptation, and redemption.

This one-of-a-kind live performance of the film’s soundtrack, performed by the original artists behind the AI-generated Tallaween film, will bring its haunting soundtrack to life for the first time.
